Photography, Where To Go

The French Alps. Mountains and snow through my lens

The Mountains of France

The end of this year had a nice surprise, a week in the French mountains near Saint Gervais in the Mont Blanc region.  An email I received, offered a return trip out to these mountains with food, board and travel all included for quite a good price.  How could I resist?  Passport, snowboard, boots and camera equipment packed, off to Dover I went to meet up with a coach.  The trip is another article but this one is focusing on some amazing photographs of the Alps I took through the week.

The most snow in ten years
The most snow in ten years fell this year.  Finally, the impressive Mont Blanc.

These photos were shot on a small tripod which I was carrying around while skiing and snowboarding.  Luckily I did not fall over.  One thing I did learn from this trip is to take a waterproof camera bag.  Not the rucksack but these plastic bags that go over the camera but have a lens opening so photos can be taken.  After I got back I popped into my local camera shop and they cost just five pounds.  Definitely worth having.

I hope you enjoyed these pictures as much as I enjoyed being there, under the shadow of Mont Blanc.

Amazing photos! They remind me of my time hiking the Tour du Mont Blanc. The Alps are so majestic. I could look at them all day! 🙂

  2. Oh wow its so amazing that you were able to go back at a great price; it looks as though it was worth it regardless of cost for the photos alone. The snowfall has made the scene even more magical! xxx
